Painting the centers of my rims, how many coats?

I am getting ready to paint my centers with Wurth gloss black paint. How many coats do you recommend?

I'm really torn between the gloss and the satin? I was planning to use the satin until I saw another SC that had the centers done in gloss. I am still on the fence with that. I guess to keep it as close to original as possible I'll go with the satin. How many coats of satin?

Maybe it is a personal thing but I find the gloss black centers sort of tacky but just as some like fully polished wheels it is your car do with it what you like. I would personally use 3 or 4 coats.
Are you going to the Tech Tactics in Springfield, MA?

Satin is the closest to the original, if thats what your after. Glossy is fine, if thats what you like. 3-4 quick light coats is better then 1-2 heavy. Make sure you apply enough to get the paint to flow . If you do it too lightly, you will get a roughened texture. You paint guys know what I mean.

Just don't go crazy with the coats. To many and it will leave nice big chip marks if and when a rock hits it.

Sounds like 3-4 coats is the ticket, not too heavy but wet enough to make the paint flow. Thanks!

I agree. Somehow when I see glossy I think "Krylon."

Use several thin coats rather than a couple of heavy ones. Three or four should be enough.

I used 3 light coats of Wurth Satin Black, and it's fine for me. Do whatever you like (paintwise) beauty is in the eye of the owner
