Starting Problems Help
 

Finally got the fuel pump replaced and the first day the car ran fine no back firing thru the intake and low rpm running was fine. When I put car back into garage I noticed some gas leaking so I investigated and found my connection at fuel pump wasn't perfect so I redid that and now it dose'nt leak. WhenI went to restart it didn't start and I hear a click at the soleniod. What should I do know? Is it the soleniod could the gasleaking casued something to ground? Not sure where to start. But the ignition key seems to work and I can hear the fuel pump running but starter dosn't turn engine and there is a click around the starter. So what should I do next?

If you are getting power to your solenoid it will click, chech this with a test light. Look at the ground strap on the trans, if it's frayed or corroded replace it, after that it could just be your starter has went bad. Check the cheap stuff first

Also when I turn the key it will turn a few times after I turn the key to off. Just started doing that when it wouldn't start.

If you posted the year of the car and engine version ... it might help a bit ...

Car is an 1978sc with 3 liter!

Follow Tabs' suggestions,

Check:

-Battery charge
-battery connections (don't forget to check at both ends)
-starter connections (battery and start signal)
-transmission to body ground strap - don't underestimate this one
-ignition switch - if you don't get 12V at the starter with the key on start (only do this with the wire OFF the starter!!) the switch is probably at fault. Use a remote starter switch to test.
-if you have low battery charge be sure to check the alternator belt
