Porsche Crest Respray/repaint or not????

I know this is a pretty "open ended" question and there will probably be a wide range of answers/prices paid.

But I am curious what a total respray would cost. Some background:

- will have new front and rear bumpers (RUF BW Motorsports) installed and they will definitely need paint.
- car is a black SC with tail
- probably not original paint, but the original was black
- no visible rust.
- current paint isn't bad other than stone chips and scratches

Should I just look at doing the bumpers and hope there is a good match and do a touch up on a few of the other spots....or ....just a complete respray because it will be in the paintshop anyways.

Experiences and suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks

Andy

Depends on how much of a perfectionist your are and how much $$$ you have and want to spend.

Around here a complete repaint is about $6k
If I were you I would paint the bumpers and drive it

6K , i suppose that would be everything : dissassemble everything , engine out , trunk empty interior , then sand off everything and then paint ?

Depends on how much of the labor you are willing to do too!

Black is black, no color match issues. Complete glass out, bare metal refinish jobs get way out of control cost and labor wise (at least mine did). In retrospect, I wish I hadn't painted my car, so I could still feel comfortable driving it. Now it sits in the garage 360 days a year to avoid the inevitable rock chips.

Troy, go out and have Stonegard or similar 3M clear protective (9mil) film applied to your car and drive it! I have it on my freshly painted (show quality) car and it has worked in several instances.
