What's wrong with this picture?

My brother in law gave me this neat little diorama for Christmas. I counted 7 things that were wrong (but must admit I can't remember them all now).
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1073335068.jpg
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1073335079.jpg

Air hose too short. :)

dd74 01-05-2004 11:41 AM

First pic: the door knob is too large? :D

...and it's too "orange."

makaio 01-05-2004 11:42 AM

I don't know what's wrong with the picture, but I do know it's pretty neat.

RickM 01-05-2004 11:43 AM

Cool diarama. For what it is it looks fine to me. :-)

Isn't that the Swedish floor jack from Pelican? And shouldn't it be blue?

Shaun @ Tru6 01-05-2004 11:45 AM

I don't see any beer... or Snap-On calendars for that matter.

Rot 911 01-05-2004 11:45 AM

Like Matt said, pretty neat. Wish someone would give me a well thought out present like that! Any idea where he got it?

cowtown 01-05-2004 11:47 AM

He said got it at a model train shop.

You're right, it's cool for what it is, and was a great present. It's just fun to nitpick. :)

RickM 01-05-2004 11:49 AM

Actually that looks like an electric drill...

cowtown 01-05-2004 11:55 AM

Here's the other thing he gave me...he's a car guy, and collects the exotic Hotwheels. He said if I'm smart I won't open it up and play with it. :( Like that Seinfeld episode with the woman who has all the old toys that can't be played with.

No data cable connecting the PC to Motech-driven 2.2 screamer motor!

RickM 01-05-2004 11:58 AM

John, I thought hte same thing. But it may have a wireless "airbus" card. :D

cowtown 01-05-2004 12:02 PM

-12V battery?

-Car's not jacked up, but they're changing tires

-Doorknob

-Air line too short

-No data cable - there's a picture of the 356 on the screen. Maybe he's running PET? :)

Trying to remember the rest...

Whoa...I knew the 356 crowd would show up. :D

RickM 01-05-2004 12:11 PM

Is that air or electric? I see no compressor and the power seems to be routed to the exhaust fan.

Dantilla 01-05-2004 12:14 PM

The roof rack on that car is dragging on the ground!

I saw that last year up in Solvang. One of the toy shops had it and another one with a 911 !! I almost bought the 911 diarama, but didn't. We (GF) and I were coming back from a vacation at San Semian (SP) bay. Hearst Castle stuff. I think I spent too much money so I didn't buy it. But the store had tons of German toys. They got cool stuff.

what is the "A" frame for?
the acetylene bottles are not secured (osha no no)
not enough "crack" showing on either technicians.

on a side note: i drove through davis yesterday. what a nice place! lots of cute girls, friendly people, cool neighborhoods......

I see a few problems:

1) Clock has too many hands
2) Air hose too short
3) Car not on jack; jack is raised in front of car
4) Tire taken off what side? Also, still has hub cap attached
5) Computer has no power cord or data cables
6) Vice does not appear to be attached to anything, ready to fall off shelf
7) Door knob too large
8) Wrench and hammer on wall and on floor (must have two?)
9) Tire block not properly secured against tire
10) Car should be silver…would look better in silver (my opinion)

I don't see any Pabst. I don't see any Pelican Parts items or shipping labels. I don't see lots of oil stains on the floor, no duct tape, no cinder blocks, no wood blocks, no bbq grill, no porn. What the hell kind of shop is this anyway? How could they get any work done there? They would never make it in NoVA.
