Project Flaumiester II has begun
I've ordered a dual in-dual out Dynomax muffler and an assortment of 2.5" mandrel bend pipes to tinker with.
I'm trying to come up with a german sounding word for Dynomax... Dynovax??? Anyway, I've also got a line on a set of 996 exhaust tips. I know, I know... "the horror". This is all just in fun. I'm itching to start experimenting with my Miller gas sheilded Mig welder. The most dificult part will be getting the tips (996 tips have that funky angle) to sit right on the pipe coming from the muffler. I may end up taking it to a muffler shop to have a few final bends done to get the angles right. But I hope to do most of it myself. I don't even know what the pipe diameter of the 996 tips are yet... I'll figure it all out. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1073350368.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1073350401.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1073350414.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1073350428.jpg |
Lee,
Cannot believe you have a Miller Wirefeed! Damm... I have been drooling over one of those for years now! Hope you weld up a nice exhaust with it. I just do not do enough welding these days to justify one, but still want one! Someday I will have one! JoeA |
I started w/ this

Bill,
Where did you get the 2-into-1 bits? Appear a bit difficult to make at home or did you do it yourself? Also, where did you get the flanges for the heads? JoeA |
Bill,
What kind of headers do you have there? |
Joe, If I understand you? that's the stock 964 heater plumbing.
I had the B&B headers made w/ 964 heat inlets that perfectly match the stock 964 heat ducts and 911 heat outlets that connect to the chassis w/ the stock 911 hose. In that pic they are mounted on the 993 engine which had the tin modified to accept the single large 964 heat duct on the bottom of the tin and Thom's c/f heat duct on the top. Here is a pic of the same setup on your engine. <img src="http://www.pelicanparts.com/MotorCity/wmv/B&B_Fab2.JPG" The 964 tin needs no modification for this setup, it is a straight bolt on. |
Bill,
So those are B&B headers? Thought you welded them up yourself!? Joe |
I had the pipes that adapt the Flaumeister to the B&Bs cut and welded.
I'm great at telling other people what to do. |
I have a 1 in 2 out flowmaster and love it. sounds great.
|
Not another Flowmaster thread! Exhaust envy creeping in!!!!!!

Are the flanges you guys use (muffler to headers) easy to find or do you make those?
|
Has any one made a muffler out of a Dynomax or Flaumiester that looks like and early sport muffler?
Thanks Christian |
Simon,
Yes, the flanges to match early HE-to-muffler gaskets are easy to find at local muffler and auto part stores! |
