Is is wrong to put the great looking Carrera side script on an '88? What do you guys think? You got it on your ride?

Sam, it far more wrong to leave your car at its current Paris-Dakaar ride height. You need H4's with chrome trim rings too. First things first.

At least DIY the H4's - puhleez! I have too little to do on my 993. It never needs any work. I'm thinking of tracking down the guy who bought my Carrera and getting it back so I can keep busy.

Can you use the H5 trim rings with H4's? Trade you straight up...my nice '88 that "needs" a few things for your "boring" 993.

What color is your car?

My '88 is black and I've been thinking of doing the Carrera script in matte black. Also thought about doing it in a gloss or matte clear vinyl, for an even more subtle look. I own a sign company so it would be easy to do some test pieces. Maybe I'll get around to it after I get time to install the Ruf bumpers and early Carrera tail, which have been sitting here for almost a year!

Sam, if you buy a set of H4's, they come with either black or chrome trim rings. You can eBay off your H5's and their trim rings. If you do both of these things, you'll probably be about $150 out of pocket when it's all said and done. I wish I had H4's on my 993! Stock 993 lights blow and the litronics upgrade costs what Ferrari owners are used to paying.

Yeah I know they come with trim rings, I just don't want to have to bother getting them painted. If I can use my H5 rings I would be much happier...

Don't get them painted! Chrome rings look soooo much better on any color than matching. Try it first and then you can have Jamie use his new home-powder coating oven on them if you don't like chrome.

Yep, did them separately. As I recall the sound was just a little deeper and throatier, and I noticed a little seat-of-the-pants with the pre-muff, and then more when the sport muffler was added. I'd say 1/3 of the sound & power increase with the pre-muff, 2/3 with sport muff. I'd definitely do both again.

You answered your own question with "great looking". I put it on my '85 for that reason. If you put it on and don't like it, peel it off.
