Sticker removal

Hello guys,

How do I remove stickers on body sheet metal that have stuck there for years and years?

E.g. Porsche lettering sticker on the rear end of my car, door stripes, country indication stickers.

I would appreciate any good hints!

Hair dryer or a heat gun normally loosen the glue enough that you can pull the sticker away. Caution with the heat gun since you can bubble up the paint. Use the heat gun at it lowest setting.

Practice on stickers from grocery can, etc. before doing the PORSCHE.

Try something mild first like rubbing alcohol or Vodka.

I have used WD-40 to get old stickers off. It won't harm the paint, no matter how many gallons you spray.

3M adhesive remover removes them very safely as well.

Hot steam is the best. Advertisement shops remove stickers from windows with this kind of equipment. It kinda has a "mitten" where the hot steam comes out. Just place the mitten over sticker and take the sticker off, with your hands. Yea, it comes off.

I took stickers off from this -86 Peugeot, it had 4 layers of stickers and believe me, i tried heatgun. 2 hours, one fender with heatgun. 30 minutes with "steamy-mitten" -> Rest of the car.

Good or bad? I've been using it for years, and have never had an issue.
