Heated Seats - it's 2 degrees below zero today

I'm thinking of installing aftermarket heating elements in my 87 Carrera and using original style switches.

From a fellow members recently posted photo, it appears that there are 3 round openings and one square in the bezel on the side of the drivers seat. Two for seat adjustment, a square opening for the heat switch and a blank for the optional lumbar support control. Am I correct?

My passenger seat is non electric and I'm not sure if just the electric switch should be there or if I should use the same bezel with all the round openings blank.

Is there any reason that the factory seats automatically shut off after 15 minutes?

Thanks.
