Dang!
I wanted the anodized ones, but they were like $159 when I went, so I got the PLAIN one...

Okay, I've seen quite a few of these "lightweight racing jacks," but I've never seen a jack race. Anybody? Where do these jacks race, and how quick are they?

And I paid $300, oh well, you can always wait for the price to come down or the next best thing to come out. No regrets.

That's a great price. FWIW, mine broke recently and I am picking up the Sears flavor tomorrow. It is $199 but (I hope) will have good warranty and parts support...

Two things about the Sears jack:
1- It goes on sale from time to time and can be bought for $179 2- Check the warranty. If it like their torque wrenches, it is not a lifetime warranty like other Craftsman tools.

My parents got me the HF jack for X-mas, but it's back-ordered until late Feb. But you still may be able to get in on the sales price.

If I had a garage I'd buy the AC jack that Wayne sells. I have seen one first hand, it's a GREAT jack, but since my garage is a room, and we anticipate moving in the next year or so I am waiting until I have a garage to get a jack that weighs over 100 lbs.

I have the AC and it is a wonderful jack.
It goes up and it goes down.

At $100, you can't go to terribly wrong w/ the HF jack. Early reliability reports indicate that these don't last long in regular use, so consider it disposable. You will not be fixing it when it goes. The Sears jack has a 1 year warrantee, as long as it breaks by the 364th day and not the 366th, you get a 2 yr. "jack plan" for $179.00, or whatever. It works out the same as $100 for HF.

Chris, did you contact Harbor freight to see if they would replace the jack or provide repair parts?

TedSlick,
I am interested in the Long Frame jack, but it looks like it's still $150 based on this link: http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/Displayitem.taf?itemnumber=42820 Have I missed something - I'd really like to grab one of those if they're on sale. Thanks,

Hey, Chris, even though the Sears version is a Craftsman the lifetime warranty doesn't apply ... that's only on hand tools. Also, I think it's only a one ton ...
