911SC battery charging, JW? Warren?
new battery , now 2 new alternators.
First had this issue Charging issue 911SC Now have this- Not enough from the battery to start the car. Voltage on this relatively new battery is now in the high 11's after resting for a bit. Starting it off a battery charger and looks to not be taking charge. Could I need yet a third alternator? Would like some expert opinion on the results I am getting when loading the battery. With the placement of the alternator on these cars the closest I can get to the hot wire of the ALT is here ![]() ![]() Here's whats happening loading the battery ![]() ![]()

remove, scrape clean and reattach with dielectric grease, the trans to body ground strap and the batt to body strap and see if anything changes. same goes for the positive batt clamp and the starter connection. you should get 13.8 to 14.2 just by raising the RPM to 2500. is there a ground strap between alt housing and case?

I replaced the Neg. post to body with a new cable today , no change. I sanded the mounting spot clean.
The Alt to case cable under the shroud is there and brand new as well. The wide, flat one under the car between the trans and body is there and looks solid but is filthy and covered with grease. I suppose this is where I will go next. Thanks JW, will post progress Vinny
