Atlanta Wrenching Party?
My freaking 911S will NEVER be done. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Im signed up for the Jan. 19th DE. Im also signed up for a track day in Feb. with Panoz. I dont think there is any way of making the Jan DE event.... and maybe not even the Fed event. They wil be the 3d and 4th events I have had to cancel because I cannot find the time to get the car done! Soooooooooooooooooo a crazy appeal to other gear heads in the Atlanta area: Any of you guys who KNOW how to wrench on a 911 in a half decent way want to help put this thing together for the track with me? It needs: - Oil cooler installed - fuel pump and hoses installed - fuses installed - electricals tested - battery hold down completed - ENTIRE rear suspension rebuilt/installed. This includes trailing arm mono-ball installation that requires removing the arms. I have ready to install aluminum arms with new wheel bearings already pressed in standing by. I also have ALL new rear suspension parts ready and waiting. - brake system bleed. - Seats installed - steering wheel installed - Suspension angles/weights set - fuel injectors all replaced - oil change - MFI to be adjusted and set. I do have ALL the parts sitting here. TONS and TONS of shiny new racing parts..... I also have all the tools and stuff. So, anyone think messing with this sounds like fun? Particularly anyone who has done the rear suspension before and is thus not right at the beginning of the learning curve? I'll provide beer and a cool Ferrari ride to any takers..... Terry |

Terry,
This probably won't make you feel any better but....if you happen to be in run group 3, I'll gladly take your spot in January! When is this wrench-fest going to occur...and where?

I am in group 3... and you can have the spot. There is zero chance of the car being ready for the Jan. event. Give Bill Crumley a call and let him know you want my slot.
Im up for working on the car this Saturday. Terry

Thanks Terry...just talked to Bill. Unfortunately there's 37 cars in group 3, so they're happy for the attrition. I'll watch this thread for more info regarding your plans for Saturday. Will try to stop by (I live in L'ville and work in Duluth).
Best,

37 cars in group 3 ???????????????? Jeeeez. Im glad Im dropping out. Group 3 can be a log-jam normally, with that many cars it would be just frustration.
I am going to be working on the car Saturday. I live in Cumming, off GA 400 exit 16 about 3 miles. Very easy to find. Ill start work about 10am and plan on quiting about 5:30pm. HAve plans for Saturday evening already. I will be getting the front suspension setup completed, fuel pump installed, oil cooler installed and hopefully get the entire rear suspension dis-assembled. I can probably work on its Sunday after noon 1:30pm to 6:30pm if anyone is interested. Will focus on re-assembly of the rear suspension. email me or send a PM. I will be out of town all day Friday, driving the Daytona back from Florida. One other person, or at most 2 is all the garage can handle at a time. 1 helper increases productivity by 50%. 2 guys increase productivity by 70%. 3 helpers decrease productivity by 40%............. 4 or more helpers, heck we just drink beer all day ![]() terrycspringer@yahoo.com Terry

hope you got some help..
I skinned my finger pretty bad today (it just wouldn't stop bleeding), and didn't finish welding until almost 3. After running errands, and being unable to get my tools from my buddy's shop, I just ended up going home... sjd

I got a late start anyway and only got an hour or so worth of work done.
I'll be working on it some more tomorrow afternoon. Perhaps next weedend would be better though for getting some help. I hope to be ready to tackle the rear suspension. I "think" that with some skilled help, two of us should be able to get a full rear suspension overhaul done in a long day. If you (or anyone else who is interested) want to come up next Sat. that would be fantastic. I did get my Daytona back, it had been in Florida for a month getting some interior restoration done. Man.... I LOVE THAT CAR! The 911 is the machine for the track and a real curvy road, but NOTHING tears up the highway like a Daytona! Terry
