Green Goo...
So, step one of my Kill-the-Air Conditioning is done. The brain and one lung are out. The arteries, the front lung and the heart have yet to go. The question... What is the green fizzy goo inside the arteries? Is it caustic?

Dumb idea -- put it on a piece of metal you're not fond of and find out if it's caustic.
I went and did some web-searching on this one. Seems that some manufacturers put a neon green dye in the AC system to expose leaks more readily. If I was a betting man, I'd put my chips on "that's harmless green dye," but that's really just a SWAG. Dan PS -- found some decent info at www.ackits.com. Site like this, except devoted to AC instead, and obviously much smaller. Good luck.

Oh, funny thing, BTW -- at that ACKits forum, some poor guy was asking how much it'd cost to have his AC removed to make a vehicle lighter. A bunch of people angrily posted trying to figure out why he'd want a lighter vehicle, and joking about how AC would only save like 20 pounds. LOL. Let us know what you decide about the dye, will ya?

The dye is used to find leaks...shows up under a UV light.
