SOCG - LA - SD Pelicans - Feeler for Saleen Factory Tour
I had the good fortune of meeting the President of Saleen recently, and he extended an invitation for a private tour of the Saleen factory, located in Irvine. I have yet to settle on the details, so don't know if this is a weekday/weekend event and what the available times are. I let him know that this group's interest would more towards the S7 & the race operations than the pickup truck/mustang side of the biz.
Any interest in something like this? |

I'd be very interested. Last year, while Dawn and I were having lunch at the LA Auto Show, we were joined at our table by the head of marketing for Saleen. We had a nice 15 minute conversation about his cars and he said the shop was open to tours.

im in!.... kg911 and i had lunch this week at the spectrum and wen to the retail store there and saw the 575K S7 in the showroom, WOW!
would be fun to see the factory..... im in richard!

Saleen use to be a good customer of mine and would visit them every couple of weeks. Its a interesting racing operation and the tour of the production department is something for everyone to see, especially if you love cars and racing in general.

They had an open house type weekend a couple months ago. Went with a friend of mine who bought a Saleen Tang not long ago. They had an F-150 assembly line set up that was interesting (definitely not a mass production type line). They also have on display S7's in different stages of assembly for your enjoyment. Ran into an old acquaintance that works there now... but that didn't bring any perks.
