FWIW, I generally like the S0-3s on my SC on the street. I was a bit disappointed at the track. Under heavy braking at the end of a long straight, I felt that the fronts were squirmy. Maybe the sidewalls not stiff enough.

I'm actually moving the rears (225/50-16 on 7") to the front and putting 245/45-16s on 9" wide wheels on the back this week.

I'm going to need new tires for my '86 also. Strictly for nice dry days and all the track time I can get.

Advice for newbies, buy a tire make/model that will be around when you need to replace the rears ( generally they wear at 2X rate of the fronts, maybe 3x if you drive real hard or track the car).

I got a great deal on Yoko AVI's from my mechanic, but after 8k miles ( approx 900 on track), the rears are down to the bars and the fronts are beautiful.

Since the AVI's are discontinued, I've got to buy 4.

Looking for recommendations.

Steve-
did you ever have a noise issue with th 730's? Reason I ask, is that when I was planning on putting new tires on two years ago, I had ordered the 730's, but the TireRack guys called me and talked me out of them - said they were beginning to hear that the tires 'howled' after about 10,000 miles.

I went with the Kumho 712s and like them a lot, but would be interested in your experiences with both the 730 & 750.

FWIW, I have B'stone 950's on my Volvo 850 wagon and they're great.
