Real story on 996 ecu programming?

Does anyone know of a company that gets real results with reprogramming the (normally aspirated) 996? With the sensitive OBD part of the computer, we would like to find a reputable company that does it right

Dave,
We have been working on this for quite a while with our contact in Europe. The correct way to program these late computers is by flash programming, These computers by design are to be programmed without removing the computer from the vehicle. This also enables the original programming to remain intact. Beta testing has been very promising with the best results in mid range torque which improves accleration in a more linear curve. No hard fast numbers have been posted but should be released by early February. I have had many inquiries and have a waiting list with product scheduled to be delivered in mid February. Several options will be forthcoming including user selectable switches for different octanes.

Contact Rene Berube at Upsolute (704-588-0207) or rberube@upsolute.com

His company chips most European makes and gets great HP gains and maintains reliability. I have been running an Upsolute chip in my Volkswagon for 90,000 miles.

Company website is www.upsolute.com

I know that Garrett Lim, the owner of GIAC (www.giacusa.com), has done quite a bit of Porsche tuning. He's also quite popular with the VW and Audi tuning crowd. I'm fairly certain that he offers programs for the 996 NA motors. I believe that he developed programs to help the 959 pass US emissions, so he knows what he's doing.

Steve Weiner at Rennsport Systems also does this, and his reputation is excellent. He's currently flashing my 97 3.6 computer. www.rennsportsystems.com. They are GIAC certified/partners.
