Please confirm what motor this is.
I have a 911 motor at my house that the previous owner thought was either a 2.2 or a 2.4. I was suspicious when I saw the black fan shroud because I thought that 2.2 and 2.4 only had red, green, and yellow, corresponding to their configuration (S,E,T). Anyway, the motor number appears to be 901 101 102 2R. I think that this is a 69 “S”, could someone please confirm or reject this thought?

Nein,
Sounds like you've got a pre 70 engine and probably a T engine. It is probably a 2.0 or a 2.2L engine. The 901 number that you gave is the case casting number. To know for sure there should be 2 numbers on the right side fan support block. one should read 911/?? or 901/?? the other will be 6-something. Either will show what kind of engine it should be. |
