Coming to Raleigh/Chapel Hill this weekend

Hi everybody, I am striking out tonight after work for a little Road Trip to pick up a '70 911 coupe tub in Chapel Hill, N. Carolina .................anybody have any "must-do's" while I am coming that way????

If anyone sees a SUV pulling a blue 911 tub down the road between Louisville, and Chapel Hill......just , it's me!

chris

You know what Jessie Helms said about Chapel Hill,

In Chapel Hill, eat at "The Rathskeller" AKA "The Rat" on Franklin Street. Walk around campus to see one, if not the, most beautiful campuses anywhere (not to mention the most beautiful women!). For some quiet time, head to The Arboretum, a gorgeous garden on the northeast side of campus (noticably prettier in spring, of course). Head to the "Old Well," UNC's symbol, and have a sip of water for good luck. If you head north from there back towards Franklin Street, you'll go past "Silent Sam," a soldier's statue holding a gun that, as legend goes, lowers his gun and fires every time a virgin walks by, hence the name "Silent Sam." ;-) Have a good trip!

Chris,

You might just want to take a walk around some of the older parts of UNC's campus. Even though it's winter it's still very nice. Oldest public U in the country.

Hey Carl,
Could you give me a tip on a good alignment shop? I have my front end out all the way down to the bone. When I get it all back together I'll need a place to bring it DIRECTLY!
Thanks

And Chris,
When do you think you'll be here?

Mike,

I go to a place in Durham. It's on Hwy 70 and he's a Tire Rack certified installer. He has a great alignment machine. Here's his contact info:

http://www.tirerack.com/installer/InstallerDetail.jsp?index=1&addressAdmin=false&zipCode=27278&installermiles=9

The Digital Chassis. A little pricey, but the owner and main tech owns a 928 so he knows what he's doing.

Carl
