Question What the heck is this

OK, I've had this thing floating around forever, but could never tell what it was supposed to do. It was run up though the hole that the heater hose goes though to come out inside the trunk and was just hanging out by the master cylinder, it seems to come from the rear of the car, and comes out (you can see in the pic) from under the carpet on the door sill. My camera didn't focus on the cable end, but instead focused on my hand, but it's a coax style cable with a thin wire in the middle and a screw on connector.

Does anyone have any idea what this thing does?
