The Porsche Room
Have I finally gone over the edge? My wife seems to think so ..... my latest addition to the 'Porsche Room' is a set of Porsche Design skis. Picked them up on eBay last year. Titanium and limited to 50 pairs. Very unusual design. Bought them as art, not skis. Finally mounted them on the wall and, of course, my wife walks in a few minutes later and says, "what the ..... ". Oh well, I like them.

Curt; I sure hope that you didn't pay "Porsche" prices for them...

Curt,
I lived in a ski lodge in Oregon in '80 and I found a bunch of wooden skis from Finland and I didn't take them home! I still regret that, they would have been a great thing to use to decorate a den with.... I like your skis. Now you need the PC peripherals (LaCie) that were also designed by the Porsche Design Group...

I didn't say that I didn't like them. They just are a bit short for my taste -- I prefer 180's or 190's.

John, these skis are 167cm. They are wide, extremely light and have very little sidecut (119-102-108mm). I've been trying to figure out what exactly these are and found the answer out in Beaver Creek, CO last week. A shop there had a pair of Volkl skis of nearly identical design but with some really bizarre graphics. They are essentially a special powder ski. Volkl's are generally regarded as the 'Porsche' of skis and the companies work together to this day.

Curt, I think it's cool, and would love to be able to build my own room. As well as a cool pair of ski's, I'd love to get a set of old Heuer dash mounted rally clocks, but it will be quite some time before I can afford that. What I can afford is a Heuer stop watch which I probably will get. I can imagine the Team manager standing in the pits timing the laps...
Keep up the good work!!

I guess I'm crazy too, I have the LaCie PC peripherals and also a Porsche designed coffee maker. By the way, the coffee maker is the best that we have ever had and the LaCie products are terrific.

The couch and chair accent the eclectic yet beautiful decor patterned in early showcase (QEFTSG). See I watch channels other than Speed.
