Probably the the first time I put my foot into the new 2.7 or the drive through Sedona with the Phoenix Pelicans.

At first I was gonna say that watching the flatbed come down the block with my '85 Turbo Look and realizing it was mine.

But then I realized that taking the P car out for it's first ride with the Steve W chip and the exhaust work.......WOW. Oh, was I allowed to say the words "Steve W" and "chip" in the same sentence? Sorry!

the best part of last year was the fact that both my wife and i lost our jobs (no really!) and we loaded the p-car with our camping gear and headed out for a 2.5 month 14,300 mile road trip to essentially the 4 corners of the continental u.s...
we did almost no interstates and found every twisty piece of tarmac possible.
what a trip! the sc performed flawlessly too.

I know this is most peoples but it was getting my car finally driving after 6 months of work. And the low point was realizing the engine was worn out. 2004 will see the rebirth of the Flying Turd though it'll be faster than ever before.

Driving my "new" 1996 993 C4S home for the first time last June.

When this thread pops up next year for the best P-car memory in 2004, my response will be the first time taking this car to the track.

Going the Hershey Pa for the annual swap meet. Met some fellow pelican heads on Friday night and saw a parking lot full of Porsches on Saturday. The drive down and back was great too. Ask Jim if you don't believe me.

Several I can think of in no particular order.
1)GruppeB car show for Austin.
2)First DE at Gingerman.
3)Hangin with the Streit racing crew at Gingerman and getting locked in after dark watching Lemans under the stars.
4)High speed run to the Indy F1 race.

i think the moment that i will remember most was when i pressed the accelerator in my 71 clone car and it accelerated like my 930 in third gear....i was in fourth gear[930 gearbox]. the second when the first 5.0 liter actually thought that he had pulled up beside an early 911 and suddenly realized that it was, but backed off very slowly when he heard the bump of 500 horsepower....

Getting my car back after 18 months of restoration was one of them but the most fun I had was driving up the backside pass(don't know the name) to Laguna Seca from Carmel Valley, with Harvey Weidman following in his 73S(?). Just the two of us with no traffic. The drive up and over to Laguna made the parade lap we all took later seem kind of slow.
We had a blast.

I'd have to say the first lap as a passenger in my instructor's car at my first A/X.

Followed by my first lap at the same A/X. I was as giddy as a school girl.

But, the new T-bars, Turbo tie rods, bushings, tires and corner ballance was good, too. Felt newer than my daily driver!

No A/C, no Sun Roof, no power windows. Fast and light, just the way I like it. (Sad to say, it's sold. But at least it remains with us on this board.)

Ohh, and a huge thanks to Mike aka Ted for inviting me to the A/X!
