'78SC Air Box Drain
What, if anything, is supposed to be connected to the airbox drain on a '78SC? I've searched but not been able to find any info. Seems the earlier CIS cars had a hose connected to a metal drain collector but I'm not seeing anything in PET for the SC's.

The parts in the earlier cars are:
911 108 021 02 Bolts onto the engine oil cooler 911 108 021 02 Flapper drain I did not have this on my 1973.5. I took a length of PVC tubing from the nipple on the box to below the motor between the engine and firewall. I used a small ID plastic connector midway in the tubing to restrict the flow. These are the parts shown for the non-CIS Early cars. ![]()

The SC CIS airboxes have no breather hose connected to the oil tank like the pre-SC’s. Tony |

The breather hose from the oil tank on the SC's is connected to the Air Guide between the Mass Air Flow Meter and the Throttle Body so the chances of getting any oil into the air box are quite low. Can the air box drain simply be capped off to prevent unfiltered air from entering the air box?

Nice! Learn something new every day. In my 1973.5 the oil tank vents into the air box, and without the drain routing, drips fill the triangle of death area and make you think you have a leak.
