You are SO evil ...

Actually, he was saying, "1:49!?! Hmmm, must need heavier springs and a bigger front bar, then it wouldn't handle so much like a Cadillac with a Porsche crest."

Thank you! I am evil, aren't I!

So is you're dad speaking to you yet after you let him down?

What's this "you let him down" crap? It wasn't me, man, it was the car.

The suspension is so soft that the car dips and rolls like a caddy.

Just being "evil".

Are you going to Streets of Willow this weekend?

Oooo. That's nasty!

I thought this thread was a "no daddy" zone.

I'm glad my dad wasn't at Willow Wednesday, Tyson. He would've disowned me and adopted you.

It looks more like a "who's your Daddy?" zone.

What a great event!

Sorry, Tyson, I'm not gonna make it on Saturday because I've already done the school and it won't count towards my license; nor will I be there Sunday due to the Superbowl - I work at FOX Sports Radio and I've gotta work - and the Dunkle Bros. car show/swap meet <-- I'm looking for parts.

BUT, my mother is gonna be there with her '76 Carrera ... yikes!!

By the time that picture was taken, Mr914-6 may have been a little tired. After all, the track was 100% completely Lamborghini-free by the time I got there. I can only assume that Marco spent the wee hours of the morning chasing down and punking Countachs, Diablos and Murcielagos.

In this still from my in-car camera, you can see him showing where he ran a Gallardo off the pavement.

(Or maybe that's him getting out of Daddy's way? )

Joking aside, Marco acquitted himself very well on the track. And he also taught the mid-engine line to a lot of unsuspecting newbies.

Thanks Jack. Very nice pics. No big wing this time?... too lazy or feeling brave?
I ran the ducktail to see the difference between it and the big tail. Same tires, same conditions, and same week at the track, the duck gets me about 200 rpms more by the end of the front straight, but costs me a little more than two seconds per lap overall. On high speed sweepers, there's no substitute for downforce.

Whose car is the last one pictured, the black widebody?? That is the look I am going for with my project; I wonder what front fender set up and rear valance he used.
All the fiberglass parts (except the hood) are by Rennspeed.

I don't know. There were two BMW's in the event. I think both belonged to R Gruppers who were more comfortable with their Beemers on the track.

Quote:
Are my eyes deceiving me or is that a water pumper mixed in with the R Gruppe? How did it perform?
There was a 951 in attendance. Nice car, but I think it was driven by someone who was fairly new to track driving, so it might not be fair to judge.

Video clips are on the way.

Unsuspecting Newbies

The wrong line in a 911 is usually the right line in a 914-6 so please, don't try to follow ...

I may not have been the fastest car out there, but I definitely closed the gaps in the Omega - flat out in third going up through three and four (gotta lift a little just before the apex to get the old girl to rotate).

Actually, Jack, I wasn't showing you where I offed the Lambo ... I was merely pointing out the beautiful geography of the California desert and commenting on how I think that sign upsets the overall chi of the racetrack.

That's cool. There'll be more.

I might be there to set the new track record in V4 on my new-hand-me-down Hoosiers. (Is there a 1:12 in my future?)

Ooohh buddy, I'm gunnin' for ya.

1:12? Definitely a possibility with the new bowl they added to the track ... however, I will be silently stabbing the kachina doll that I made of your car.

Great day. The weather is the best I've seen at Willow Springs ever. Beat the hell out of Sat/Sun when it was cold and windy.

what's up w/ all the blue tape? maybe they should invest in some of elephant racing track skin.... or does the blue tape weigh less :-)

so how did the bmws compete?

I've got both early bmw and porsche and I attend a few club events. but mostly the PCA has only porsches and the bmwcca has only bmws (funny how that is)

I've got a pumped up 72 bmw 2002 that just might try to sneak into a PCA autoX. I'm just curious.

New bowl? Could you elaborate?

I love seeing your car with a few rock chips Jack, shows it's being used as intended. Now stop showing us these pics, I go look past my car on jackstands out the window to the snow beyond, why do I live in KS?

Tyson SOW has a banked bowl at the north end now.
We ran it clockwise last weekend.
The bowl is fun, exiting the bowl onto a 4th gear straight at 100mph you fly into an uneven chicane, that part is not as good.
I managed a 1:27:0 during practice laps but the best timed run was 1:27:75.
Good luck racing.
