car wont start: problem solved

Turned out that one of the reference sensors, (one monitors speed, the other crank position?) was faulty and thats why the ignition was not activating.

Only cost me 600 bucks! In my first 6 months of owning this car...1100 to replace the door lock rod and 600 to replace a sensor... Must...learn...about...cars...

Glad to hear you have it running now. That is what it seemed to me, having just gone through similar problem.

For sure. Use this forum for all it's worth! I am the type of 911 owner that really needs do all of my work myself to afford the car. I don't have alot of disposable income to pay someone else for repairs.

Porsches can be a fortune to maintain if you have to pay someone else to do it - fortunately they are very robust cars and also relatively easy to work on.
