It's very popular on this part of the BBS to trash anything that's not a 911.

A 924S is not a bad car. It's potentially worth $3K, if it's nice.

The 944S is a pretty decent car too, with a fair amount of power and lots lower maintenance cost than a 944 Turbo.

It's worth considering, IMHO.

OK, I'll keep it but I expect my fuel bills to be subsidized by you 911 snobs until I'm working again!

Exc,

I have a beautiful 48" Bobcat and 10hp snowblower....both aircooled. Whadaya say? Even steven?

Seriously, although those are both fun and relatively capable cars I wouldn't make the trade. One thing to consider is that as an investment (I use this informally) your car is much better positioned....plus it's classic looks (w/ Fuchs) are timeless.

I have considered this in the last month. The only reason is that I want more straight line power. But it would have to be a 944 turbo.

944S is a better daily driver than the 911 for sure. cold air all the comfy stuff etc.

...but that is a cool 911 and 911s are just about always cooler than a 944

My 911 has ice-cold air, power windows, power sunroof and the nicest buckboard ride this side of a stagecoach!

The 924S/944 etc. may be capable, etc., but there is nothing magical about them. Like a 911.

The proof is in the fact that old 911s never die, they just get more and more money dumped into them to keep them on the road. The number of "stripped to bare chassis and put back together again" 911s just on this Board alone is amazing.

Every 924S/944, on the other hand, is one fenderbender away from being in the junkyard. Just like the disposable 300ZXs, RX7s, etc. from the 80s.

"My 911 has ice-cold air, power windows, power sunroof and the nicest buckboard ride this side of a stagecoach!"

Then why would you ever consider trading that thing????

Good Call don't trade it away for a "disposable" water pumper

You already knew the answer to your question, you just needed us to beat it into you, right? And don't even think about selling your 912 either, that perfect example of ride heighth, you have a longhood and a middle age car, what else do you need? Sell all other material goods, sleep in car/ cars.
