Hmmm. The whole deal sounds suspect. No complete pics of the car, no real details and a fudged VIN. And in Japan. I'm sure someone with a car like that would know more about what they have.

Very strange.

I see a whole bunch of details out of whack with that car. Looks like a nice attempt at a replica but I am not buying the authenticity. I'm looking forward to seeing GeorgeK tearing this car apart...where are you George??

A link to the S registry thread...I'd suggest anybody thinking of bidding read this before doing so...some of the posters on this thread ARE RS guys...

Well Fender, you still need a 911, right? Who needs a cab when you could have an RS? A little out of your price range, but some things are worth borrowing for, right?

Scam Alert

I see this all the time with motorcycles on eBay. The scams always seem to include shipping from some far away land in the auction price. The long nose guys have it pretty well covered on that board from the tech side, but even a newbie would have to ask, why only closes-ups. Even the emailed stuff is all close-ups! I would not touch it with a 3.0478 meter pole (Japan, so metric).
The current high bidder 'ski88800' is also "bidding" on a 1965 Maserati....man I should have such tough decisions.

Is he saying the repair parts came with the 0068 vin? What's that 0030021 number?
Sounds to me like the repair front clip is from a Carrera, and the rest of the car isn't. Maybe I'm confused.
I'd never bid on this one without viewing in person!

Really no one knows what that 7 digit # is. Is it a correct numbered factory supplied replacement part that is crossed out and then restamped with the VIN # of the car? Very suspect especially in light of no documentation to prove it.

Here are 2 other auctions from the same seller/agent. One completed and did not meet reserve. The other active.

'57 Jaguar XK 150

1990 (or is it 1900) Marco?

My request for a dash board located production # has not been answered. It is either a total fraud or an RS with a bunch of 'stories'.

I have a very Porsche-knowledgeable friend who just happens to be in Japan for the next few weeks. I sent him the link. Maybe he can check it out for us.
