Replica Fuchs for a daily driver?

I searched the archive about replica Fuchs and most of the discussion (from what I was able to find and read) seemed to focus on the use of replica Fuchs for track purposes. The use of replica Fuchs for a daily driver only car seems acceptable. Is anyone currently running replica Fuchs for their daily driver or have you used them in the past? Good/bad experiences?

I ran across a set of replica Fuchs (7/8x16, the 8s are 23mm offset) and will be looking at them tomorrow. First, can the 8s be used in the rear of a 83 SC? Spacers required? Second, what would be a fair price be assuming these are in good condition?

I wouldn't do it....

The Fuchs are designed the way they are due to the forging process...which "squeezes" the metal during forming. The cast clones would be OK if they went thicker to maintain the strength..but they typically don't...instead they mimic the forged design almost exactly, but they're cast.

Can you predict...exactly...when you "need" strong wheels even on the street?? You might still have heavy braking loads, even if you don't have heavy cornering loads.

It's not a question of the fakes being cast...it's a question of the cast copies not made thicker to compensate for the loss in strength.

I have replica Fuchs that I'm trying to replace (15 x 7) and I was polishing them last week and noticed several cracks at the hub radiating out to the petals. After seeing that, I'm not too confident in them. I don't know how old they are since the PO put them on... I want to replace them but real Fuchs are going for alot of $ these days and I keep getting outbid on eBay!

I've run 15x7 fake fuchs on all four corners of my narrow bodied car for 10 years. My Dad ran them for 10 years before that. The only problem is that they are heavy and are harder to balance than they should be.

That being said, since I flared the car I am going to 7s &9s off a turbo and am just waiting for tires.

Real fuchs are better so the fakes ought to be cheap.

In my own case 15x7s with the right offset to fit a skinny car aren't cheap so I was happy to run them on my car
