11 degrees no start

Temp dropped to 11 two nights ago and car would not start. Tried several times and it finally fired up yesterday but I noticed a STRONG fuel smell. Is this normal for an engine that has been turning over several times?

I had a fuel leak back last summer and fixed it, or so I thought. I am worried the brutal cold could have affected one of the lines.

Again, is it normal for there to be a strong fuel smell for a car that's sat and attempted to start 8-10 times over about a 28 hour period?
FYI 88 3.2 123k miles, runs fine otherwise.
TIA

Mine does the same thing and I have confirmed no fuel leaks. I have a '74 with 2.7L CIS stock...

The fuel smell is from the raw gas in the exhaust. Being it is not getting burned, it has to go somewhere. Take a smell at the exhaust outlet, it will be really strong after a couple of failed starting attempts. At least you know your fuel pump is working.
