177 Indicated on my Yamaha R1 a few years back. Have not come anywhere near that on 4 wheels, but by sticking to older cars, you get the same thrill and sense of accomplishment at half the speed !!

A-10s rock Sponge! God help anyone in their path.

I hit about 170 or so in turn 8 at Willow Springs in my Formula Atlantic. 5th gear WOT. Have hit 170 +- on bikes coming down the Cajon pass near Victorville. Sad to say, only about 125 in my 911s... things get real loud in Cabriolets. My old 928 though, I had it maxed out a couple times. I'm guessing 160.

1.25M, altitude 50ft, over Scotland....oppps.
Pulling dirt off the landscpe and water off the lakes...gets scary when she flips upside down to crest the hills, your eye is only about 80ft from the ground above your head.....

But never done more than 125mph in contact with terra firma...

But what REALLY brings a smile is the 9-mile high club. Over the Gulf of Mexico, after a week in Acapulco with a recently divorced new-hire flight attendant.
Oh My! Can I come along???

Fishcop, that is damn fast for Hoddle Street. I take it you where on the right side of the law?

307KPH is approximately 191.875MPH. Now I need to know why you ask?

A few years ago I was lucky enough to "win" a ride in a 962 at Road America during a PCA club race. Although I was only a passenger, we probably hit 180 in the straights. With only the benefit of a lap belt I was thrown back as the car accelerated and then forward when the car shifted and we momentarily lost momentum. Then when he got back on it I was pressed back again. The torque and HP on the car were incredible. Truly a memorable ride.

While the sense of speed was pretty amazing I was impressed with the braking and handing on the car. The car stopped like NOW. Going thru the carousel and the kink was the coolest thing. The car felt like it was on rails. That was scary!!!

Can't beat the Concorde, but I got Chris and MFAFF:

1.82 Mach in an F-14B off the Virginia Coast.

Besides, the Concorde probably has a turn radius as big as the state of Virginia...

Now that I'm flying a desk, I'll shut up.

Victor, yes legal... chasing a "bad man" (armed robber). I got a copy of the tape from comms after the chase... partner was calling it 150kph as we used to get called off any faster. I was about 20 years old then and totally immortal. I think back on a few of the things I did "in the line of duty" and really thank my lucky stars I didn't die or kill anybody (who didn't deserve it ....)

307kph was indicated on a Hayabusa I took a test on out the back of the Gold Coast a few years back.

I thought you put the 930s steering wheel in that thing Jack? Does that thing have a Steve Wong chip? Now this thread needs to change to the sound barrier.

Was wondering when you'd pipe in George -my little plastic jet can't hang with the Grumman ironworks, specially with the big motors.... now we wait for a Eagle driver or Blackbird driver to show up..

Oh - I'll agree with Thom on this one - how about 110 -120 - five speed - beer in one hand (my lap was occupied)- now that is talent folks... And of course in much much younger days.

Ummm, I've done 145 on the Autobahn between Munich and Rosenheim in a '87 Fiero. Of course I had to tape the light lids down to do it, but it's all good
