Well Karl, it looks like YOU will just have to finish up that purty car of yours and fire her up!!!
I actually almost went the Coast muffler route myself, but I have been running open pipes at the track lately and the car is pretty happy that way. I got a Dansk SS 2-in/2-out sausage muffler for duties where (slight) muffling is required. It's still pretty effin' loud, though. Judging from the looks of the Coast units, I am guess they will not exactly create a Lexus-like aural experience either.

How do you plan to set them up? One muffler per heat exchanger? Will you need a crosspipe between the mufflers to make up for the lost torque?
I'm thinking these mufflers would install on your car similar to megaphones, right?

Yes... no cross pipe. Straight through exchangers. Similar to megaphones.
Keep in mind they are for a 914-6. I also have a muffler hanger with special straps to "hang" the mufflers from. ![]()

Very nice.
![]() Now, I was of the mind that you need some sort of crosspipe to deal with the loss in torque of having straight out mufflers like what's pictured. Are those yours? If so, how heavy (or light) are they? What's their diameter? And if you care to divulge...how much were they? Thanks.

14 inches long. 2.25 Inch ID... weight 3 lbs each... ceramic muffling cartridge... all stainless construction.
I think they are in the neighborhood of $170 each... http://www.coastfab.com/ultralights.html

Karl: FWIW, I saw this
They are also approved for NHRA use. (95 db A scale) Megaphones are like 107 db. So they're at least quiter, if that helps. Thanks for the info. ![]()
