Mechanical 180mph speedo
I have a VDO mechanical speedo that goes to 180mph, does anyone know what car this would have come off of? It has a 911 part number, but i don;t know if maybe North Hollywood speedo or some other gauge company would changed it and left the part # original. Thank you for any helpful input, Don.

That speedo was used in RS 2.7, ROW 2.7 Carreras '74 thru '76, RS 3.0, and 2.8 and 3.0 RSRs, and the 15 Penske IROC cars, too ...
It's mechanical twin, the 300 km/hr version, was shown in the following thread ... a 1973 Road & Track article featuring the '73 911S and 2.8 RSR: '73 R&T RSR vs 911S Track Test ... ps, It was designed for use with a 7:31 ring & pinion, so it works fine with any 901, 914, or '72 thru '74 915 transaxle with mechanical speedo drive!

I have one of these also. It's a spare that I don't use anymore. Any idea of the value?

Thanks Warren, who would have thought it would be put into a POS '74 914 that sat for sale for about 4 years in some ladies driveway. But i guess thats how it happens, everybody finds gold in the most unthinkable places. Once again, thank you for your help, Don.
