Going through withdrall
The growl of the engine, the spartan purposefull smell, the occasional neck snap turn, the secure feeling shoehorned into the Recaro's. My car has been snow covered for 6 weeks now with no end in sight. We've had snow, ice, bitter cold, just about everything winter has to through at us here in the ugly northeast. It's even too cold to tinker in the garage.
I can't wait to get my "fix". Thanks Pelicanites for keeping me sane. You all in warm climates, shutup! |
It's -11 degrees here in Indy this morning. It's too cold to even go in the garage and work on the car. My garage heater can't keep up. That's it!! I'm moving!!

Speed withdrwals HERE
12/31 was the last ride, 4 weeks since fired up! This sucks! 5 degrees out, 12 inches of snow on the ground, did sit in it last night and depressed the clutch pedal a few times (good for the G-50) a few good sunny memories past through my head........oh well 6-7 weeks of this @#%$#%$ and then lots of seat time...http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/wat3.gif

It's friggin' freezing Mr. Bigglesworth... it hasn't been above freezing here in Boston for over 30 days...Yuck...Fortunately the car is in bits so I don't have the urge to drive..
|
It's been two weeks for me, I can't drive even if I want to, engine and tranny are sitting next to the car right now. To hell with the cold and snow, as soon as it's going again I'm driving it for a day straight, weather be damned!
|
I know what you mean, my car is in the garage, covered for the winter and it's too cold to even work on it. As soon as it warms up I'm installing a natural gas heater out there. I brought the wheels into the basement and I've just finished cleaning and polishing them. I have the targa top in the basement and I have replaced the clips and other hardware on it. No more maintenance that can be done in the house, I'm going "stir crazy"!

I woke up to this on Thurs. a.m.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1075563568.jpg
I think we're all overdue for our "fix". Unfortunately, it's still about two and a half months away up here! |
not based on weather at all...but I will not see my 911 for six months, so I might need to go on the patch or something! Ha Ha maybe a sweet 911 RC car to play with...say a 959 Rothman style.

I am in warmer climate, but my cars are 5-6K miles away in France
I will try and get my fix by going to the rennsport reunion, I was lucky enough to make the last one at Lime rock and it was fantastic!. I can get my fix by the website and my Rennsport R. film footage which has been downloaded on the harddrive of my laptop :D At least you guys in winter weather know you will see your baby again in spring!. Me, it's uncertain when I will see her againhttp://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/sad2.gif Ben |

But I don't think it would go very well in the sand.:( |
Guys I really know how you feel. Just this morning I was going to coffee and had my A/C on and it got down to 75 in my car.. I had to turn it off. However, this next week the weather report says it may get down to the mid 60s.
Gotta go and lay on my sun deck...my tan is fading somewhat. Your good friend in southern California. Larry |
6 weeks? My former daily driver has been in pieces for over 6 months.
I am past the major withdraw symptoms but I look forward to lapsing back into my old habbits. |
and I expect temps to look like this real soon!

damn it helps if I add the photo.

My cars that are outside must have snow removed like shown on Lally's car...but...*every* day....it just keeps comin' and temps are anywhere from 0F to 9F , or so, for past several weeks. The dog even gets *stuck* to the ground when she has "to go" outside!
Car went into hibernation on Nov1...won't come out until May1...sucks. ( Nice warm garage , though, plenty I can do if I find the time!). --Wil Ferch |
