Daytona 24 today - go Team Seattle!

Just a reminder that the Daytona 24 starts today @ 10 am PST/1 pm EST - on the Speed Channel.

Every year a group from Seattle (Team Seattle) send cars out to race and raise money via lap pledges for our local Childrens Hospital. This year they will be running two Daytona Prototypes (next year going back to GT3's).

I pleased to say that our company raised over $25k in pledges and matching funds and our logo (small) is on the two cars. We're having a Daytona party at our house today... gotta go get the chores done.

Look for...

Mark, good luck with Team Seattle during this yearís Daytona.

While I can't get the Speed Channel on the local cable here in Chicago, the last few years I had my sister tape both the 24 hours of Daytona and the Le Mans races via satellite TV. Iíll be looking for them during my ďreplayĒ of the race.

Back in the early 70ís I was fortunate enough to attend two 24 hours of Daytona Ė 1970 and 1971. What memorable races to see the 917ís beat up on the Ferrari 512ís. We always didnít bring enough warm cloths to FL in Jan/Feb and froze during the night.
