Sunroof panel (headliner question)

Hi-

I removed the sunroof panel portion of the headliner a few weeks ago to make some repairs. I opened the roof 4", pulled it down, pulled the panel out, etc.

Now I can't get the thing back in...I would think install would be the reverse of removal, but I'm really fighting it. Any tips...?

A little more info. Trouble getting the headliner back into the metal sunroof or getting the sunroof back into the tracks? The headliner retainers are pretty tough to pull out which means they aren't going to pop in easily in replacing. You have no make sure there aligned and push very hard, directly over the retainer to get it in place. Might want to use the back end of a screwdrive for more pressure then your fingers. I've done this twice with mine and my brothers, so let me know with some more details.

Pull the sunroof out and install it with the sun roof out. It will be quicker.

Instead of pulling the panel out, the easiest way to make repairs is to just push the panel back into the roof. It'll slide way back in there.

If you can't get it in, as suggested above, you can take out the steel sunroof panel, slide the inner headliner piece back into the roof, then bolt the panel back on. The slide the inner piece up into place.
