East Coasters Gratuitous Pic Day

Most of us on the east coast had the pleasure of enjoying 60+ degree weather! Here's how I spent the day:

Fishing and driving!

I was able to drive my car today! It got up to 60 in SE Michigan and it was sunny! Helga was just begging to be taken out of the garage and I hadn't started the car since December 1st. She started right up and I had a great 2 hour fun run around the local area. I saw a 944 and many, many Harleys on the road. Everyone was so glad the day was nice that they were waving and having a great time. I don't expect the warm weather to last and I think this was a "fluke", but I'll take any chance I get to drive the car!! A great day as I'm sure your was!

Nice Day To Do Some Work Too

I had mine on the jackstands removing my AC system. Not a must do, but something I've been itching to do since I bought it. Working on it, next best thing to driving I guess.

Out here in the frozen northeast people actually drive their cars on the lake during winter.

..and yes, there's always some moron in the spring that thinks the lake's still frozen. At least one car/year takes the dive.

I had a pretty car-filled weekend. Sat. I did a brake flush and oil change on my 993 - lots of fun. Then Charlie and I headed over to a buddy's house for a great lunch and to reassemble the 2.7 he wants to transplant into an RS clone. We also put H4's on his '67 911E with an S engine. See below. Oh yeah, note the 512BB in the garage.

Here are a few of them getting this engine onto the stand.

And just for balance, here's a shot of the driveway with my 993 on the left, his C4S in the middle and his Testarossa in the foreground. Sorry Charlie, your car didn't fit in the photo. And then today I helped another buddy take the calipers off his 993 for the big red powder coating work.

Sanded the bottom of my sailboat. But good boozing, cruising, and snoozing is just ahead.

Yup, I was surprised to see that there was still some ice left with todays warm weather. Here's another pic in which you can see the water/ice contrast a little better and another one of my friend's E36(had to bring the bait along ):

Richard, so that's why you were in a rush to get your projects done on Saturday!!

Great weather this past weekend! Other than going to the PCA Potomac Lifts for Charity (at Autosport Systems Group - ASG) on Saturday, I hung out on the driveway, working on the E. I wish we'd have more weekend weather like this.

Still have a frozen snowbank infront of the winter storage garage. :-(

Definitely ready to get her out when it melts! Hopefully a couple warm weeks will do it!

Cegerer nice photo, is that a 4X4 or a minivan? Gordo, nice work ripping the A/C out. I took the compressor out on my SC, but still have to remove some of other remaining A/C components. Today is going to be another beauty, it's supposed to get up to 70 'round here. Who else went for a drive or worked on the 911?

Art Z., I couldn't even count the number of bikes I saw on the road. Literally every other car I saw had a pack of motorcycles in between them. Even Johnny Law was out with his bike patrol, except today I actually saw a smile on his face! Funny how the weather affects our moods, most of us in the NE suffer from Seasonal Affective Disorder ! But you Californians wouldn't have a clue as to what that is.
