free hp for sc's

Today I went looking for vacuum leaks.

All my hoses are about 25 years old so I changed all the vacuum lines I could find. Then I carefully resealed my pop off valve with some black silicone and coated the O rings with white lithium grease for a better seal. Now the car idles and runs better. Feels a little stronger too. Hp?

This is the perfect addition to a tune up and it's a good afternoon project because it takes little skill but offers a satisfying, same day result.

Getting the right size hoses can be tricky because some of them have changed shape over the years. I pulled a few off the car when I pulled up to the local auto parts store and had them match them. If you can test fit the ends of the new hoses before you drive away to make sure they fit snugly you'll be happier. You can also get a few new connectors, "Ts" and such that you'll see when you look at the lines.

Sure, you'll spend all of eight bucks, but it's worth it.
