Values needed to do the CAM timing on my 80SC

Hi Guys,

I don't have a Porsche Factory Spec Book, and am wondering if you guys can help me out. I am doing the cam timing on my 1980 911SC (930/08 ROW Engine).

I need to find the value of the intake valve stroke in overlapping TDC, for my motor and cams.

In Wayne's 101 Book, he wrote;
"On the 911SC type 930/10 motor, this value of intake valve stroke in overlapping TDC with 0.1mm valve clearance must be set between 0.9mm and 1.1mm. To find out this value for your particular motor and cams, check the Porsche Factory Spec Book for your year car." I believe he was using an 82SC for his book.

I verified that I am dialed in at about 1.25mm. Bruce's Anders0n's Book suggests 1.4 to 1.7mm.

What value should I have my cam timing set at?

Thanks in advance,

.Steven
