Sparco Evo 2's with stock seat belts

Hopefully I will be installing a pair of Sparco Evo 2 seats in my 87 911 this weekend.

I will be using 5 point harnesses for the track, but would like to use my stock belts for street driving.

Any tips on how to do this? Do I just simply use my seat belts as I do know? Or will I have to loop them through the side holes of the EVO 2 seats?

I ran the 3-pts(stock belts) in my Evo for a little while in my SC. You need to unbolt one end and run it through the "door side" hole. I also tucked my belt receiver through the "tunnel side" hole. If you just run the belts over the seat, they dont even come close to holding you in (unless you are a very "round" fellow). I eventually gave up, and just use the 5-pts now since its not a daily driver (makes getting to your wallet at toll booths tough though).

We did exactly this for a friend's 85 Wide Body using Sparco Evo2's and both stock 3 point and 5 point belts.

This could get long...but in a nutshell:

- use eyebolts for outer ( door-side) lap belt mounting. Belts use "snap-in" mounts.
- use eyebolts for shoulder harnesses at rear seat belt locations.
- use Brey Krouse "piggy-back" hardware for inboard mounts...located over stock seat belt receptacle. Both mounted to modified factory sliders that already had angled tab to bolt the receptacle to. ( See FK seat thread and dig down into two posts of mine showing David Anderson's approach..both text and photos....good detailed stuff). Alternate is using Recaro or Sparco sliders with RS America inboard bracket ( see FK seat thread again).
- 3 point belt drapes over shoulder wing ( as I recall).
- 3 point lap threads through outer ( door side) lap belt "hole" in seat.
- 3 point latches "over" seat on inboard side. Don't use seat hole.
- all 5 points feed through seat holes when on track...take out of holes when not on track.
- 5th belt mounts to cross bar ( Speedware Motorsports..or self made) mounted across using front seat anchors. Alternate: 6-point can use "bolt-in" mounts at each front seat anchor.

Whew !!..
