Friday afternoon project thoughts
OK, thinking of possible replacements for the Kremer 930 (one day...)
Fact 1. 993TT's are holding their value exceptionally well in Oz ($200k) Fact 2. normal 993's are starting to drop. Fact 3. 993 supercharger kits run about $12Kish. How much power does one need to add to either a (i.) 993 C2 or (ii.) a 993 C4S to get the power to weight of a 993TT??? (which have 408hp right?) Cheers - Ryan |

Buy them, sell them

Ryan,
Protomotive do a turbo kit for 3.2s that yeilds 410bhp (flywheel) in Stage II form. I bet their 3.6 kit is just as good. Merv (Pelican name Wydryd) in Melbourne has their Stage II 3.2 kit on his widebody cab. Awesome car... ![]() An automotive wholesaler friend told me that early '95 993s are starting to get under the $80k mark in the trade... I know of an exceptional Arena Red C2S for sale with only 40,000kms here in Melb, but the ask is around $140k. ![]()

Can you hold off just a couple more years until I can afford to buy it? haha
When did Merv move up to stage 2?

Langers, I haven't gone Stage 2 yet, I'm still at Stage 1 Upgrade, which gives healthy 400HP at only 0.7bar at stock compression
![]() Ryan, the 993 is definately a nice car, and would be even nicer with a Protomotive kit on it. It'd ***** all over a stock 993tt, especially if you get a C4S and go down the Protomotive route ![]() One project I'm seriously considering is to get an '89 Carrera factory Turbo-body Coupe, fit a light-weight 993tt Race Body kit to it (which has a 5" wider rear than the 993tt) and give the engine a serious work-out (3.6L, Twin Turbos, etc etc). Hmmmm, it's nice to dream sometimes ![]()

hey merv - long time no see
what about this? - early targa, cut off the hoop, weld in a rear cage, speedster pod, no windscreen (maybe perspex lip), ultra light weight minimilist approach ps: have a look on carpoint under porsches, if you see something with a GTR tag then you will find your project car almost done

Ryan, I know someone who purchased a standard 993 2WD, dropped in a 993TT engine, stripped the interior, added a cage and coil overs etc. Probably the simplest way of building a GT2 type car although still not cheap. He has since installed carbon fibre EVERYTHING (doors, guards, bonnet, etc etc) and modified the engine for more mumbo.
Car runs in open class and pretty much cleans up anything.

Hi Guys!
Ah yes, I've seen that GTR for $60k. Are those bolt-on flares? There's nothing like doing & seeing the transformation over time, yourself ![]()

WAY COOL!
There's also going to be an article in European Car magazine based on the 996TT Tuner Shoot-out competition. I believe Protomotive won the comp! How's a 3.06 sec 0-60 and a 10.74@131 in a 727hp 996tt with just bolt on's ![]()
