Do I need gasket sealer on output seals for my 915?

I put new seals in last night and realized that I may have needed to put gasket sealer in there. Is this a mandatory or optional? I certainly don't want them to leak later so if I need to remove them and buy new ones I will but if we think they'll be fine dry then I will keep them as is.

There were a bear to get out. Much harder than the flywheel and pulley seals. A much tighter installation too.

Unless you scratched/gouged the outer sealing surface getting the old ones out, dry should be fine.
