Keep Your Eyes Open - What Wayne is Looking For...

Hopefully the wifey won't read this particular post.

I'm looking for an early 911/912 that has been converted into an RS look. No engine or tranny needed - chassis would be good, but I'd like the chassis finished (painted?). If there is a drivetrain, I'm looking for a 3.2 with carbs or Motronic. Something to drive mostly on the street.

Please keep your eyes open, in case you happen to see something.

On that note, perhaps we should create a "Wanted" board where people post what they are looking for, and fellow Pelicanites can help out, if they have seen something like that?

Also possibly interested in original Carrera RSs, but only if they are in the "reasonable" price range.

Thanks!

A lot of folks are using the For Sale area to post "want to by" WTB. Seems like it works ok and it keeps it all in the same place.

I have a good friend who has a 3.0 Carrera replica. I think its based on a '75 model chassis. It has a 3.2 with uprated cams and some other trick parts. Rebuilt 915. Tons of trick suspension. Wide flares and fuchs. Glass body kit, white with orange Carrera graphics. Lightweight interior. Extremely nice car and very very fast.

Let me know if your interested

Yeah, I'm looking for an inexpensive '73 RS too. Or an inexpensive 300SL Gullwing.

Just pickin' on ya, Wayne. As long as everyone else is.

Wayne, there's a guy her in Tulsa with an actual '73 RS that he's casually mentioned he might sell but he does not seem particularly urgent about it. Not sure how serious he is but I suppose if someone was truly interested he'd be willing to talk, of course "reasonable" is a relative term.

Here's a good RS clone candidate in your neck of the woods.

Here's a very nice `75 US Carrera.

Sick of the Ferrari already? That was quick.... :D

It's good to see that you are looking to go back into 911 territory :)

Wasn't Elombard looking to sell his blue RS rep (before the 'incident'!)

he was...15 supposedly...

now it's got 3" holes punched the length of the pan on the drivers side...

that's crappy luck if you ask me.

Pomona?

Wayne 962 02-06-2004 03:11 AM

One reason I bought the Ferrari was because I wanted something fun to drive while I looked for this car. It will take a while.

On this red 911T - I'm looking for something more done than this, drivetrain doesn't matter. Ideally, it would be a chassis that has been finished but is missing a drivetrain. I saw one at Dunkels 2-3 years ago that was perfect (wasn't in the market at the time). I'm also not looking for anything post 1973...

about 11,000.00 USD as a roller. it sounds like a pretty accurate replica with a real ducktail, s brakes etc.

DonDavis 02-06-2004 07:33 AM

This is wierd. The above link for the ebay car works fine but when I go to ebay and then search for Porsche 911, that particular listing does not show.

What gives? Am I doing something wrong?

911ctS 02-06-2004 08:12 AM

Wayne, are you going the short stroke, high reving 3.2 route? This is a bad ass combo!!
I'm building a 70.4mm stroke, 98mm bore, 10.5:1 comp, twin plugged 3.2 with crankfire Ign. and carrera intake manifold w/ megasquirt ECU. Hoping for 300 horses at the flywheel.:D

Wayne I will sell my 73T non sunroof to you with a tired but hard running 78'3.0 SC w. SSI bacK dated heat etc. You could sell it off to help finance??? I am fixing the floor and I will drive it out to you after I locate a 964 to replace it with in So. Cal. There are several candidates available out there currently. Better act fast I have a track day coming up and who knows what could happen

Its also got the back half roll bar, race buxkets, Lt wt interior, 22/30 T bars and adj. spring plates. AC in a box. Looks good from 10 feet.

Wayne 962 02-06-2004 02:21 PM

Close to what I'm looking for, what's wrong with the floor?

Sorry I dont know how to paste a thread id. Search for "pulled a nostatic" and you can see the pics. TRE is selling me a new pedal box and sheet metal to replace the damage. Should be good to go my March 1.
