911 engine mods

Nubbie Questions:

1. Is there an advantage to putting 9.8:1 Euro P/C on an 83 motor? Does this mod require changes to ignition?

2. Will a 930 cam work well in an motor modded with the euro p/c.

3. Is there an advantage to using 78 heads with this motor (larger ports)?

thanks for your advice.

Actually it's just the pistons that are different. The advantage is better torque with slightly better horsepower. No ignition mods although twin plugging is always welcomed if you got the $$$$.

Um, well it will work, but the pistons aren't the limiting factor in changing cams, it's the cis system. And while i'm sure 930 cams will work, if sc cams are considered an upgrade in the turbo community from there 930 cams, I'd assume this would be a downgrade.

If you have the cams yes. With proper cams (such as 964, or if the cis is ditched something more radical) the early heads with larger ports will yeild better breathing room for higher horsepower at high revs.
thanks for your advice.
