Help! Need "rod end" for upside down RSR coil-overs!

Gang,

I just received my upside down coil-over clevis kit from T.R.G. and they drop shipped the bottom "rod end" spherical bearings from Bilstein. Unfortunately Bilstein was out of the proper ones and for whatever reason just sent me the wrong size! (M12x1.25) Duh.

So.... I now have an entire suspension except for these damn rod-ends with the flange to hold the spring hat so I'm sitting on my hands untill they make more.

Does anyone have a set? I'll happily buy you a new pair when Bilstein makes them in 3-4 weeks! They have a female thread that looks to me M10x1.25

I've already asked Bilstein, TRG, Rennsport, and Patrick. Nobody ahs 'em.

Thanks!

Chris

looks like a mono ball end, try laneautomotive

Jeff Alton 02-05-2004 07:35 PM

Chris, what is the diameter of the actual end, and confirm it is a female threaded 10x1.25. I will make some calls up here for you.

Jeff,

It is definitely M10x1.25 female.

Not to scale, but:

Guys,

It turns out that Bilstein never made the M10x1.25 part. ANy part that was sold that worked was custom-made. I have my answer, not the one I wanted, but the answer nonetheless.

But what is the solution to the problem of the missing rod end?

cstreit 02-06-2004 08:46 AM

Fabrication. I'm going to have a batch made. 3-4 weeks they should be ready.

cstreit 02-06-2004 11:26 AM

FWIW, Souk and I are fabricating a supply of these. They will be ready in several weeks. If you are interested, please contact me directly. They will be better than the originals in that you can swap the bearing out to whatever kind you what but ALSO add any pre-load to the spring you want without changing the ride height!
