Clutch parts questions

On a 915 tranny, specifically the clutch helper spring and the guide tube - how do you know if these should be replaced? On the helper spring, do they wear out, or just break? Mine is not broken, so how can I tell if it should be replaced? Also, on the guide tube, where should I be looking for signs of wear?

Thank you!
