Torsion Bar indexing - HELP?!?
Is there an accurate resource who/which explains in detail the process of adjusting corner weights on an older 911 by changing the positions (attitudes) of the torsion bars?
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Ed |
Do a search under "corner balance" and "Chuck Mooreland".

Wil,
Thanks for the excellent point in the right direction. I have spent the last couple of days reviewing the various posted topics, as well as their disseparate links to other sites, etc. Of special value was your own post which actually addressed the tortion bar indexing process. The controversy and misinterpretations surrounding corner balancing were quite entertaining, and perhaps could have been avoided by both you and Chuck by stating that your methods are intended for the 911 used primarily on the street. Very thorough otherwise. Thanks again, Ed |
I think the methods work well for track cars too. The factory has a much "coarser" standard for the street cars...something like keeping the left and right side of any axle within 20 lbs or so... a bit crude.
