Monza Pics
Hi All
Only managed to develop some pictures from Monza (Sept 2003) recently. I managed to have a really good nose around the GT3 Supercup car....funny alot of people were distracted from the car...wonder why ![]() Theres also some pics of the original Autodrome. I really hope they don't tear down these banks....such history should be preserved. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Nice pics, Sean. So that's the track where the 911R made its mark. Look at that surface...and those banks. Amazing.

Very cool, a piece of Motorsport history. Hopefully it will be allowed to remain.

Thanks for those photos Sean! There is/was a website 'Save The Banking'. Apparently, some environmental whackos were intent on tearing the old pieces of the track down. More info here:

For those of you who want to know what going out on the banking feels like...the "ghosts" that reside there are akin to going to Wrigley Field, or Fenway...you know something VERY special used to happen there...a long long time ago. The same happens in the old garage area....whoa...talk about weird feelings...Tatzio, Enzo, all the greats were THERE at one time...
I will hopefully be there this summer. sjd

cegerer...thanks for that site. I have come across the save the banks campaign before..but i'm not sure what the current status is.
We spent alot of time around the banks during the entire F1 weekend...it really is a special place. To be honest...standing at the top of the bank looking down the slope surpassed any previous expectations I had. It truely is amazing. I would be absolutly stunned if they tore them down...but there was little or no evidence that they were going to be preserved. Sean
