Cleaning H4 Glass

OK, this is driving me crazy (and its a short trip!)
I know I've seen somewhere a trick to cleaning the inside of the H4 headlamps. I've searched for an hour and can't find it. If I recall correctly, swishing anti-freeze gets the haze off the inside of the glass. Anyone remember this???

NEVER FAILS! Post a question and then find an answer. Hazy Headlights? If anyone else has a better suggestion, put it up.

You may want to get a pair of the rubber sealing rings that go around the H4 lenses ... #15 in the diagram below ... sometimes they stick and tear apart when disassembled.

All 911 headlamp assemblies with glass lenses use the 356 part 644.631.114.00 shown below, but a VW part for '49 thru '66 Beetles is the identical part by Hella!

ok, this is from way out in left field. a friend once had a antique bottle that was way hazy and grimey. we used an old restaurant trick used to clean those coffee pots found in diners and seveneleven throughout the world. we put crushed ice in it, alot of salt and a bunch of lemon juice. swirl it around like a madman and it came out gleaming! this trick works on coffee stains so we went for it. do you think it would work on the headlights? the acid in the lemons etch away the grime and the salt and ice are the abrasive element. WAY left field, sorry.
