I'm a Porsche newbie and this topic may have already been discussed, so if it has--sorry. I have a 1976 911S Targa with crank windows. What's the best way to upgrade to electric? Completely new doors, new panels, window motors, etc. Help.

trade me...I want mech windows instead of the crap power windows! Ha Ha...regulators are not hard to install from what I hear, so I imagine you could just get the items and install them.

Heck, I’m only 5 not 71!

There is a section in the 911 service manual on drilling holes to upgrade to power windows from the manual type.

Sorry my mistake the section in the service manual is for upgrading the cross arm window lifter. Apparently they changed the design of the lifter. To upgrade you need to drill holes for the new style lifter. I could not find anything on converting from manual to electric windows.

Strongly suggest you keep the manual roll-up/down windows.

It's a brainless install; but running wires means removing door or fender.
I just posted a site for billet window cranks on that window crank/handle thread we just had here. the up-graded window regulator is about $150ea.. I have the Tech Bull info on the up-grade.
