and at the risk of sounding like an idiot...

What is the little plate that's riveted onto the driver's side A-pillar for? There's nothing stamped on it, that I can see. I see it on other 911's and have always wondered.

Anybody know?

Its a VIN plate.

US cars must have a VIN # thats visible from outside the car.

I think it's time to get your eyes checked ;) . If you look closely, you should be able to make out a VIN, or to be redundant Vin number.

Ohh, now I think I'm going blind or insane. I swear I didn't see anything when I looked. I will check again.
