Tranny Q: Does Porsche make an Auto-stick
I have been thinking of building my wife a 911, but she doesn't drive stick. I have a 71 2.2 that I think would make her a wonderful car.
Did Porsche make, or will an Automatic-Stick type tranny fit in that car?? I am not familiar with that style tranny, so any help would be great... AND if anyone has one laying around, please let me know. If I find a Sport-matic style tranny, I will have the stock unit out of the car for sale or trade. thanks, chris

Getting on in years, I have considered the same thing, as my 911 is a pig to drive in stop/go traffic. I also have a 5 cyl Audi with an automatic.
This box should take the power, and they[Audi gearbox] are cheap. worth a thought. |

The Porsche equivalent of the auto stick is the Sportomatic. Here is a site with some info Sporto. There are many transmissions to be found since many take them out to convert to a manual. Remember you still shift but there is no clutch.
Yes, the trans will fit your car, but you may be better buying another car with all parts in place. It will be much cheaper. PM for more info/help. I have one and love it!
