NoVA 1st Monthly Gathering

It was a beautiful morning in NoVA today, and the brave ventured off into the sunny 48 degree weather.

Seeing he was way outnumbered from DC area SCWDP ,the lone Rgruppe targa tried to hide behind the SUV to avoid getting his engine dropped.

(David, left, basically trying to kiss up and plead to Thom,SCWDP captain on the right, for the gruppe B’s not to get their engine dropped) "I’m telling you man, it’s all about the carrera targa’s, just look at Dan's. We can chip ours out too, it’s cool! Wow, I didn’t know how strong you SCWDP guys roll!"

The SCWDP plotting in the background, finally decides that they need a 3.6L and so a 993 was going to be the victim.

The only other 993 there got word of the crew's plans from a possible SCWDP/Gruppe B mole and decided to split.

Well since Rick's was the only 3.6L left, it was decided that his was going to get dropped.(Ted, left, and George on the right) Basically surveying how fast they can drop out Rick’s 3.6L and get it to Ted’s truck before Rick catches on to our devious plans.

(Guys on the left trying to distract Rick on the right) "Hmm, I wonder why my engine is sitting kind of low, is that a jack stand."

Well after Rick caught on to our plans, he decided to go for the trunk at which point we all threw our tools and ran for cover. He buttoned everything back up and sped off with gunfire spraying everywhere.

Luckily I was able to signal fellow SCWDP member George and he was able to follow. Notice all the spaces were reserved for 911’s.

George, hot on the trail for that 3.6L.

After pissing off Rick, the SCWDP/NoVA gang were still left without an engine, when out of nowhere an unassuming yellow 944(look in the background of above pic) stops to compliment all the beautiful 911’s. Little did this guy know he was the next victim of the NoVA gang. Well he first got out explaining how unique and one of a kind it is, and then said something about 370 horses. Well by the time he said how many HP he has, we all agreed it was a done deal, the motor had to go.

(David to the left, Steve on the right) Going to get their tools for the engine drop.

So sorry, but it must get dropped.
All in all it was a great turnout. And even though we didn’t get the 3.6L, we got to drop a 944 engine that we can sell to raise money for a 3.6L. Not to mention we got away without being riddled with bullet holes, can’t beat that. If I missed something guys please feel free to chime in. It was a good time meeting you guys and seeing some familiar faces. I look forward to devising more mischief with you fellas.
MUHAHAHAHAHA

Pari--

Great meeting you as well. Did you photoshop that pic of my car to erase all the dirt?

Dirt, what dirt. Honestly I didn't do anything to the pic other than resize it. Yeah Dan, your Targa looks that sweet even when it's dirty.

It was great to meet everyone. Pretty good turnout for a winter Sat.

At least the lone early car got the lone picture.

Hi Jamie, it was nice meeting you. I'm glad you could bring your "lone" Rgruppe out, at least someone represented. (Clearing throat) Jim where were you? I was hoping to see Dino .

VASteve, despite what it may have looked like on that run back from the meetup, I wasn't trying to show you how much faster my SC is than yours. I was merely trying to be your decoy for any potential speed traps.

Clearing throat...very appropriate. I was recovering from a sinus infection and loss of voice (some would say that's a plus ). It's also a bit too soon to drag Dino out...the roads are still too salty and rust never sleeps. The March gathering is probably where Dino gets to come out and play.

Nice meeting you guys on Sat. I had never seen most of the cars there, so this was a good one. George from FL, sorry I left you on the Beltway. I just can't drive 65. Tom's green Euro SC was just killer. And we finally had another 993 show up this time. We'll steal all of Rennlist's 993 guys yet.

I was having fun trying to keep up! I don't log as much seat time practicing my skills. It was funny though, even as loud as my car was, I could still hear yours 50 yards away. That thing it loud!!!

Actually I may have to play hooky from the first job to have time to get some work done on the car. I was thinking of lowering it another inch or so and doing a bump steer kit.
